Peninsula Distilling - Hornibrook Vodka Range

What better way to pay homage to our Peninsula than to have a reference to the unique structure that was built to connect the Brisbane mainland to the Peninsula than the Hornibrook Bridge?

The image we chose depicts the day the Hornibrook Bridge was opened to the public, and the first vehicles drove across from Brighton to what is now known as Clontarf. The Hornibrook Bridge* was constructed from 1932 to 1935 and was officially opened on 4 October 1935.

Hornibrook Vodka Orange

Awarded Silver Medal at the 2025 Australian International Spirits Awards in the Flavour Distilled Vodka Category.

“Big bright bold orange on the nose, like freshly squeezed juice, not at all soapy or oxidised. Slightly confectionery but not at all unnatural and very inviting. Bitterness comes through on the palate and hangs on through the finish, but the clarity and intensity of orange flavour is right there throughout. Can see a lot of good cocktail applications here…” Judge

Awarded Bronze Medal at the 2025 Royal Queensland Awards in the Flavour Distilled Vodka Category.

“The intensity is pronounced, and a background pithy character is not overly distracting. Some green, orange notes creep in, which draw the aroma away from the more focused orange notes. The palate is driven by sherbet, and the pithy character is more pronounced here, giving some satisfying dryness…and has clear cocktail applications (Cosmo, etc.).” Judge
